FIX_ETHERS(8) COMMAND REFERENCE FIX_ETHERS(8)

NAME
     fix_ethers - add entries to /etc/ethers

SYNOPSIS
     fix_ethers clientname [ enet_addr (xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx) ]

DESCRIPTION
fix_ethers is a shell script that adds a hostname and
Ethernet address to the /etc/ethers file so the server can
honor reverse ARP requests for its clients. Also, an

           arp -s clientname enet_addr pub

is done to make sure the server will honor reverse ARP
requests until a reboot is done. Upon rebooting, the
/etc/ethers file will be used to load the kernel.

Arguments
clientname Hostname of the client to be added.

enet_addr Ethernet address of the client to be added.

EXAMPLES
           fix_ethers karnak 08:00:11:00:d0:47
