NAME

openstep − openstep environment

SYNOPSIS

openstep [-ShowDock YES|NO]
openstep -stop
openstep -start program [-ShowDock YES|NO]

DESCRIPTION

openstep is used to manually start up and shut down the OpenStep(tm) desktop once the window system is started. If no arguments are provided, the OpenStep environment is started. You can use the openstep command to start the basic OpenStep desktop and also run an executable OpenStep application program. 

ARGUMENTS

−ShowDock
specifies whether or not the dock will be visible. The default value is YES. A user might choose to set ShowDock to NO when running OpenStep in a CDE environment.

−stop
shuts down the entire OpenStep desktop. It also shuts down the X server unless the TerminateWindowManager user default has been set to NO.

−start
starts up the basic OpenStep desktop.
