FD2PICIO(1) — Pixar Programmer’s Manual
NAME
fd2picio− convert a fast-disk picture file into a standard picio picture file
SYNOPSIS
fd2picio fd_file picio_file [ options ]
DESCRIPTION
fd2picio converts the picture contained in the Fast-Disk “tile-based” picture file fd_file into the Pixar-standard picture file picio_file in the UNIX filesystem. If picio_file exists, a confirmation is requested before deleting the old version. The created file conforms to Pixar’s standards for tile-based picture files (see “The Format of Stored Pictures” in the ChapLibraries User’s Manual) and can be retrieved with the program gt.
If fd_file does not begin with a slash (/), it is interpreted to be relative to the current Fast-Disk working directory specified by the FDCWD environment variable (see fdcwd(7)).
Options:
−v (verbose) elicits typeout of the created file name.
−12bit
indicates that pixel information should be stored with 12 bits per channel.
