SETPOWERSAVER(1X) SETPOWERSAVER(1X)

NAME
setPowerSaver - turns on powersave option, if monitor supports it

SYNOPSIS
     /usr/lib/desktop/setPowerSaver

DESCRIPTION
setPowerSaver checks to see if the system's monitor supports the
powersave option. If it is supported, setPowerSaver sets the powersave
to a default of 1200 seconds (20 minutes).

This program is intended to be run whenever the user logs into the system
and has not (yet) chosen a custom screensaver. The Xsession.dt file
executes setPowerSaver automatically; the program is not intended to be
run on the command line by end users. If it is run in this way, it will
simply reset the powersave timeout to the default of 1200 seconds,
ignoring any previous powersave timeout setting. (The current
     screensaver delay will be preserved.)

See the XSetScreenSaver(3X11) reference page for more information about
     powersave.

For more information about the entire IRIX Interactive Desktop
environment, see the IID(1) man page.
