HOSTCONFIG(8)  —  UNIX Programmer’s Manual

NAME

hostconfig − configure host shell variables

SYNOPSIS

/etc/hostconfig

DESCRIPTION

/etc/hostconfig sets up shell variables used by the various rc(8) command scripts to configure the host. You should use either HostManager or SimpleNetworkStarter to edit this file.

You should edit /etc/hostconfig instead of /etc/rc.boot. However, you should be aware of special keywords used by /etc/rc.boot and the programs it calls:

-AUTOMATIC- Configure automatically

-YES- Turn a feature on

-NO- Leave a feature off or do not configure

Make sure there are no spaces on either side of the equal sign (=).
