NAME

dceval - test if a DCE client can function in its cell.

SYNOPSIS

dceval [-p preserve_directory] [-v]

OPTIONS

-p preserve_directory
Specify a directory to preserve intermediate validation data for debugging purposes. By default, intermediate data is not displayed and is not saved.

-vRun in verbose mode.

DESCRIPTION

dceval runs a series of tests that verify whether or not a local DCE client is able to participate in its cell.  When you invoke dceval from a command line, it prompts for the cell administrator’s principal name and for a password. If you use the defaults, you can enter <Return> at the prompts.  dceval performs the following validation tests:

•Contact core services using dceping.

•Check RPC endpoint map.

•Verify DCE security service installation and configuration.

•Verify DCE namespace service installation and configuration.

•Verify DCE time service installation and configuration.

•Optionally, validate ENCINA-related security and namespace objects.

AUTHOR
