SYNOPSIS

where
line Device name, must start with /dev/tty.
DESCRIPTION
dgsvcmon, the Data General remote service monitor, is a port
monitor that monitors the given line for modem activity.
Once dgsvcmon notices activity on the line it will prompt
the user for some information. If a dialback string has
been entered using svcmgr, then the user will be called
back. Once the connection has been correctly established
the user will be given a menu with three choices. They can
either take over the system console, login normally, or
disconnect from the session.
Options are:
line
Specifies a device name to use as a communication line.
dgsvcmon can share the same port used by dgsvcd. These two
daemons coordinate the sharing of this port if configured
this way. dgsvcmon sends informational level messages to the
syslogd to be saved.
dgsvcmon gets its modem information, password information,
and dialback information from the data stored in a structure
accessible through /dev/fe by svcmgr. At initial system
boot time there are default values in the structure. A
system administrator can set these values so that security
is enhanced.
EXAMPLES
dgsvcmon /dev/tty00
FILES
/dev/fe
The FE (Field Engineering) support driver character
special file which provides proprietary service
information to the remote service monitor.
/var/adm/dgsvcmon/ttyXX.line

communicate if they are both trying to use the same
port. For example tty00, tty01, etc.
