     NAME
fsirand - install random inode generation numbers

     SYNOPSIS
          /etc/fsirand [ -p ] filesys | special

     DESCRIPTION
Fsirand installs random inode generation numbers on all the
inodes in filesys and installs a file system id in the
superblock. Filesys is the pathname of the directory with
which the file system is associated in the file /etc/fstab.
Special is the pathname of a special file referring to a
device containing a file system. The file system must be
unmounted. The generation numbers are used by the DG/UXTM
Open Network Computing (ONCTM)/Network File System (NFS) to
detect when remotely accessed files have been replaced.

Fsirand must be used only on an unmounted file system that
          has been checked with fsck(1M).

     OPTIONS
-p Print out the generation numbers for all the inodes,
but do not change the generation numbers.

     SEE ALSO
          fsck(1M).

     BUGS
Fsirand cannot be run on the root file system because this
          file system cannot be unmounted.
