NAME

rdistd − Remote file distribution server program

SYNOPSIS

/usr/bin/rdistd −S [−D]

/usr/bin/rdistd −V

FLAGS

−DEnable debugging messages. Messages are logged using syslog(3). 

−VPrint version information and exit. 

DESCRIPTION

The rdistd daemon is the server program for the nrdist command.  It is normally run by nrdist using rsh(1). 

The −S argument must be specified.  The option is required so that rdistd is not accidentally started since it normally resides somewhere in a normal user’s $PATH.
