NAME

setup − invokes a Digital UNIX system setup menu

SYNOPSIS

/usr/sbin/setup

DESCRIPTION

The setup menu displays a list of the setup programs that should be run to prepare the Digital UNIX operating system for general use.  The setup menu provides the capability to set up the network, printers and mail, and to install license Product Authorization Keys (PAKS), etc.

To access the setup menu the user must have root privileges.  To invoke the setup menu on a workstation, the user selects System Setup from the DXsession Applications menu.  Otherwise, the setup menu is invoked from the command line by entering /usr/sbin/setup (as root).

The options provided on the setup menu will differ depending upon which software subsets were loaded on the system during installation.  If the software subset which supports an option was not installed, the option will appear on the menu without an option number and, therefore, cannot be accessed.

EXAMPLES

This example invokes the setup menu from the command line at the root system prompt:

# /usr/sbin/setup
