DISPLAYTYPE(1A)  —  MISC REFERENCE MANUAL PAGES

NAME

displaytype, pal, ntsc − inquire about Amiga display type

SYNOPSIS

/usr/amiga/bin/displaytype

DESCRIPTION

displaytype prints to standard output the ‘displaytype’ parameter used by the kernel.  The value is printed in hex with "0x" prefixed.  Bit 0 of the value, when set, indicates that the video output is in NTSC format.  Bit 1, when set, indicates PAL format.  Bit 2 indicates the presence of an Amiga A2024 or Moniterm Viking monitor, suitable for the scan converting high resolution video modes (1024 x 800 or 1024 x 1024).  Bit 3 indicates the presence of a monochrome monitor.  Other bits are reserved for future use.
