etheraddr(1M) etheraddr(1M)NAME etheraddr - displays the Ethernet address of each Ethernet card in your system SYNOPSIS etheraddr [slot] ARGUMENTS slot Specifies the NuBusTm slot to search for an Ethernet card. If you do not specify a slot, etheraddr searches slots 9 through 14. DESCRIPTION etheraddr displays the Ethernet address of each Ethernet card in your system. The Ethernet address is stored in the ROM of each card. The etheraddr command prints the Ethernet address as a string of six hexadecimal bytes separated by colons. EXAMPLES An example of this command is: 02:60:8c:05:c9:d3 STATUS MESSAGES AND VALUES The etheraddr command exits with a return status of zero if it can find an Ethernet card with a valid ROM. A nonzero return status indicates that etheraddr could not find an Ethernet card in the system or in the specified slot or that etheraddr could not read a valid Ethernet address from the card's ROM.
