VUELOCK(1) UNIX Programmer's Manual VUELOCK(1)
NAME
vuelock - screen lock program for HP VUE Lite
SYNOPSIS
vuelock
DESCRIPTION
Vuelock is a separate client process that locks the screen
for HP VUE Lite. Vuelock covers the screen with a window
and displays a message centered in the screen, asking the
user to enter his or her password to unlock the screen. The
screen is unlocked by entering either the user's password or
the root password.
In HP VUE Regular, the locking code is built into the ses-
sion manager (vuesession), so that the vuelock client is
invoked from the front panel only when running HP VUE Lite.
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
The following environment variables are used by vuelock:
DISPLAY
Vuelock uses the value of DISPLAY to determine which
display to lock.
LANG
The LANG environment variable is initially set from the
list of languages that is available from the HP VUE
Login Options selection. Vuelock uses the value of
LANG to select the message catalog for displaying the
lock message. The default value is "C" (English text).
RESOURCES
The following resources are used by vuelock:
foreground
The foreground resource is used for displaying the
``Enter password'' prompt.
background
The background resource determines the color of the
covering window.
