10.0;ro (read_only) *DM*, revision 1.0, 87/12/23
ro (read_only) set read/write mode
usage: ro [-on | -off]

DESCRIPTION
The ro command puts a pad into (-on) and out of (-off) read-only mode.
If you do not supply an option, the current mode is toggled. The pad
must be in write mode (-off) in order for you to insert or delete
     anything.

An "R" appears in the window legend of a pad in read-only mode. The "R"
     disappears in write mode.

If you modify an edit pad, you must write it out with the pw command
before you can make it read-only.
