Printer Information
DESCRIPTION
The following printers are supported on an Apollo node:
⊕ NEC Spinwriter 7715, a letter quality printer;
connected via an SIO line
⊕ Printronix 300/600 LPM printer, connected to the PBU
⊕ Genicom 3404 dot-matrix printer, connected via an SIO
line
⊕ Versatec V-80 printer-plotter, connected to the PBU
via an IKON 10071-5.
⊕ Imagen 8/300 or Imagen LBP-10 laser printers, connected
via SIO lines or the Multibus.
⊕ Domain/LASER-26, a 300 dpi 26 ppm laser printer;
connected via an SIO line or IKON 10085 multibus
controller.
⊕ APPLE LaserWriter, a 300 dpi 8 ppm laser printer;
connected via an SIO line.
⊕ QMS-Plus, a 300 dpi 8 ppm laser printer; connected via
an SIO line.
⊕ QMS-800-II, a 300 dpi 8 ppm laser printer; connected
via an SIO line or IKON 10085 multibus controller.
⊕ TI-2108, a 300 dpi 8 ppm laser printer; connected via an
SIO line or IKON 10085 multibus controller.
⊕ Tec 4692, a ink jet plotter; connected via an IKON
10085 multibus controller.
Files are printed on these devices by the print server, which runs in a
separate process on the node to which a printer is attached. The print
server works in conjuction with two components: the prf (print_file)
command and the print manager (prmgr), which coordinates print requests
generated via prf with the printer resources provided by prsvr.
